These are sonic explorations of the ALABS pedals 'Orbital' and 'Novadrift'.

The first three tracks are long improvisations focused on utilizing both of the pedals.

Tracks 4 and 5 run through the settings of the 'Novadrift'. Tracks 6 through 8 are devoted to the 'Orbital Pitch', showcasing its settings and capabilities.

Many of the recordings were done using the Android Wiisp Synth which was chosen for it's simple elegance and spacey qualities. It's sonic qualities make it easier to discern exactly what the pedals are doing, so I used it for the setting run throughs. It is free (see the links below) and the creation of Akunull Systems, who incidentally are incredibly kind in addition to being crafty.

I also utilized a Novation Bass Station ii, my default hardware synth of choice. It has an incredibly wide palate and contrasts nicely with the Wiisp.

I alternately routed both the synths through the 'Orbital' into the 'Novadrift', the into my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, and finally into Reaper, my current DAW. There was absolutely no audio processing on these tracks whatsoever. My intent was to show the sounds generated by the equipment I was using and fidelity to that goal was paramount.


Individual tracks will have notes with times for different settings on the respective pedals.

There will be a posted written interview in late winter/early spring of 2024 at www.continuousrevelations.com with ALABS.

Collaborating with ALABS has been a natural fit and I will post some further sounds in the future. The pedals are part of their Adam series and were a delight to explore. Much thanks to ALABS for providing these pedals for this project. Hopefully these are enjoyable for you to listen to.
